The Zaragoza Technology Park is born

The new technology park in Zaragoza will boost the ICT sector

In a bold move toward consolidating its position as a technological epicentre, the Government of Aragon, under the leadership of President Jorge Azcón, has announced the creation of an ambitious technology park in Zaragoza. This project, hailed as a key initiative of the current term of office, seeks to revitalise and boost the already dynamic Information and Communications Technology (ICT) sector in the autonomous community.

The future technology park, which will cover more than 40 hectares in the Aragonese capital, promises to be an innovation ecosystem. It will feature state-of-the-art facilities, collaborative spaces designed to foster interaction, and buildings adapted to house companies of all sizes. The primary objective is clear: to generate, attract, and, crucially, retain specialist talent, a key element for the sector’s growth.

According to President Azcón, this strategic development will not only foster the growth of ICT companies and enhance synergies between them, but will also intensify public-private collaboration and foster the creation of high-quality jobs. “Technology and its application will define the economic, social, and political future”, Azcón stated, underscoring his conviction that “the company of the future will be technological, or it will not exist at all”.

Aragon has already demonstrated its leadership in technological adoption, as it is the first and only autonomous community in Spain to have a Cloud Law, complemented by the recent Aragon Public Service Cloud Policy. These regulations establish a robust framework for the use of technology, both in the public and private sectors. The presence of technology giants such as Amazon Web Services and Microsoft in the region is a testament to Aragon’s attraction and a catalyst for further investment in its technological development.

With this initiative, Aragon is strengthening its commitment to innovation and firmly positioning itself in the race to become Europe’s leading technology hub. Generosity, collaboration, and a vision of synergies as an opportunity are the pillars upon which a stronger, more cohesive Aragonese ICT sector will be built, ready to lead the technological revolution.
