BIG NUMBERS FOR DAT ALIERTA

BIG NUMBERS FOR DAT ALIERTA

The development will cover 45 hectares

The Aragonese Technology District (DAT Alierta) is preparing for a massive transformation. The Government of Aragon has explained that the urbanisation of the site for this ambitious technology park, which is to be the epicentre of the sector in Zaragoza, will require an investment of over 55 million euros. This represents more than half of the total initial budget and will be used to restore approximately 45 hectares of currently abandoned land between Parque Goya, Juslibol, and the Actur district.

A sustainable, connected environment

The ambitious recovery of this land not only includes roads and basic services, but also the creation of a dense area of woodland, landscaped terraces, and the remodelling of the irrigation canal that runs from east to west. The goal is to create a sustainable and aesthetically integrated environment.

These previously undisclosed details are described in the economic plan that accompanies the specifications for the drafting of the Project of General Interest of Aragon (PIGA). This legal instrument will allow bureaucratic deadlines to be cut in half, thus accelerating the development of the initiative, which has just been put out to tender with a budget of 1.6 million euros. The PIGA will be based on the master plan prepared by engineering consultancy firm Idom, which laid the groundwork for the project.

Headquarters: the heart of DAT Alierta for 22 million euros

In addition to the urban development, the economic plan includes 22.68 million euros for the construction of the DAT Alierta headquarters. This building will be the complex’s “Plaza Mayor” or “Main Square”, a meeting point that will accommodate common-purpose areas and will be placed at the centre of the terraces that feature in the new urban enclave. It will contain:

  • An auditorium with seating for 500 people.
  • A general catering area and a VIP restaurant.
  • The district’s main office.
  • A collective dining area.
  • Multi-purpose classrooms.

Other key infrastructures

The plan also details other crucial investments:

  • More than 5 million euros will be allocated to the creation of a woodland area, which will surround the headquarters, forming a natural ecosystem within the park.
  • The electrical substation and supply infrastructure necessary for the installations will cost about 8.2 million euros.
  • A sports area will add approximately 1.2 million euros to the budget.

Although they may vary slightly during the preparation of the PIGA, all these figures reflect the investment commitment of the Government of Aragon. Furthermore, this public investment includes the estimated 20 million euros for the relocation of the CIRCE technology centre, DAT Alierta’s first major occupant. DAT Alierta will also comprise the construction of other “dynamic” and “flexible” buildings for collective purposes, such as shared accommodation, a hotel, offices, and a multistorey car park. These buildings will be strategically designed to project a “unified”, avant-garde image of the technology district to the outside world.
